Palm Coastin'

We got back on Tuesday from a fabulous trip down to Palm Coast, FL to visit Nan & Grampy.  We couldn't have asked for better weather and company!  We left MA on Friday and returned on Tuesday so we packed as much fun in as we possibly could.  Swimming in the pool, took a walk to visit Aunt Chris, swimming in the pool, Family Fun Fest, beach, swimming in the pool, out to dinner, beach bon fire, zoo, swimming in the pool, easter egg hunt, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Thanks for having us Nan & Grampy!!  We love you and miss you already!

We LOVE Jet Blue!!!  And their personal TVs in each seat.  Total no-brainer, not sure why all other airlines have not jumped on board with this one!
Grampy (the best bon fire-maker in Flagler County) and Daddy (his assistant)
Watching brother running around in the water like a nut

Awesome waves.  Couldn't believe it but it actually got TOO hot and Nick and I ventured into the waves and got blasted by a few!
Chelsea is officially obsessed with these sunglasses.  Maybe they took the place of her tutu that didn't make it into the FL suitcase.  She has even wore the sunglasses to bed a few nights!

Beach bon fire party!  I packed up all the warm clothes we had and we didn't even need them.  Sooooo nice.  There was even an impromptu fireworks show a little ways down the beach from us...and by little I mean about 6!!  Nick was in heaven though, we were finally able to convince him that the lake house is NOT the only place where you can see fireworks.

Nan & Grampy and their babes

Hanging with the elephants at the Jacksonville Zoo

AWESOME Frisbee Dog show at the Family Fun Fest.  These dogs were incredible.

Family beach pic (with flabby, white stomachs conveniently hidden by children!!!)

 Trying out Aunt Chris's motorcyle

 Chelsea and "Easy Rider"

 Nick and "Easy"

                           Bed time story with Nan

Carousel ride.  Chelsea wouldn't climb aboard one of the animals!

The hot tub was AWESOME!!!  Not only for late night adult beverage time but also for when it was only 70ish degrees on Monday and the kids still wanted to "swim" - kept us from freezing our buns off!  The "talking under the water" game is great for practicing holding breath underwater.  Nick got up to 10 seconds!!!

MAJOR progress was made in the pool on our short trip.  Nick jumped off the side by himself for the first time and not to be outdone, Chelsea decided that she would too!  She is a total maniac in the water, absolutely loves it.

(Please excuse the extremely annoying voice of the lady videotaping, I need to learn how to edit out my voice!!!!)

Celebrities!

Nick and Chelsea made the paper!!  A reporter took a picture of them while we were at the Family Fun Fest while visiting Nan and Grampy.  Check it out...

Queenie's Perch

I just uploaded all of the pictures and videos from our trip to visit Nan and Grampy in Florida but since I have to upload from three different pieces of electronic equipment (the camera and our two phones) and make sure they all go into the appropriate folders on the computer, I am now too tired to post them!!!

So that all is not lost, here is one of Queenie welcoming me home (or maybe she is just letting me know that I am sitting in her favorite spot).

Disobedient Daddy

Nick asked me this yesterday, "Why is Daddy playing his phone games when he didn't ask you?"   HHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!  I could not stop laughing.  I love how this kid thinks!

Spring Training

Don't all mothers tell their kids not to play ball in the house??  Probably going to regret this someday...

Of course I didn't get the at bats on video when Nick beaned Ryan off the face with a line drive or when Chelsea actually made contact.  The mini bat and ball were Nick's "prize" at his most recent trip to the dentist...hottest item in the house at the moment.  Still not sure why we ever buy these kids anything!!!

The sun shines on Daddy

We had to record this one for posterity. Usually after dinner, or during dinner, or anytime of the day for that matter...the kids only have eyes for Mommy. I want to sit on Mommy's lap, I want Mommy to get me my milk, I want Mommy to help me find my blankie, etc, etc, etc. Not tonight. Maybe they were turned off by the cold that I have and the hacking cough and runny nose that goes with it. Whatever it was, they decided that tonight was Daddy's night and we were both fine with it. Ryan got some much needed Daddy love and I got to digest my dinner without someone (or two someones) crawling all over me.

Current clothing trends

And these trends too shall pass......well, maybe not.

She went strong for 8 days, insisted on wearing her blue tutu at all times, even to sleep. There was one reluctant hand-over so that it could be washed but it went straight back on after it was dry. It's been two days since she wore it and that's only because it has spaghetti sauce all over it and Mommy hasn't done a kids' load yet this week. Maybe she'll be over it by the time it gets washed!

Nick's trend...doesn't like to wear underwear to bed. Oh Lord. Not so sure if this is a "trend" or a lifetime commitment to going commando. He's been doing it for a while and insists on staying the course. We had an almost There's Something About Mary incident when he zipped his you-know-what up when he was zipping his footie jammies...thankfully there was no permanent damage but you would've thought it might warm him to the idea of leaving his undies on. Not so much.
