Can't argue with that logic!

About once a week there is a message on Chelsea's "What I did today at Linda's Family ChildCare" sheet that says, "Nick had a great day but had one timeout for hitting". We have tried various tactics to stop this behavoir, the most recent being Ryan trying to have a "discussion" with him about hitting. He tries to get through to him by incorporating Nick's newest fave thing (his fish). The conversation went something like this...

Ryan: "Why would you hit someone?"
Nicholas: "Because I was hitting."
Ryan: "Hitting is not nice. Don't you want to be nice? Look at your fish. Your fish is nice. He doesn't hit."
Nicholas (after looking at the fish inquisitively): "But Daddy, my fish doesn't have any arms so he can't hit."

And that was the end of that conversation!!!!

Emergency trip to Petco

Ryan had to get a new suit for my cousin's wedding this weekend so he left work an hour early yesterday. Some sort of Divine Intervention steered his car home instead of straight to Mansfield Crossing. THANK GOODNESS!!!!! He opened the door to find the home of Nick's 2-day old fish shattered into pieces all over the dining room floor...and the fish (had not been named yet) was nowhere to be found. *%^#ing cats!!!!!!!! We have no way of being sure but it had to have been Tommy. Quick detour to Petco before he picked up the kids and Nick was none the wiser. Of course Ryan had to explain why the fish was in the car, but Nick was loving the story that the fish wanted to come with Daddy to pick him up. Sorry, first fishy, for forgetting that we have the most idiotic cat on the planet. Welcome, second fishy, we promise to put a barricade around you at night and whenever we leave the house.

This is fishy #2. We didn't get any still pics of fishy #1
but we have quite a lengthy video - he will never be forgotten!

Happy Birthday Nicholas!

Happy 3rd birthday to our beautiful baby boy! You and Chelsea are the sunshine of mommy and daddy's lives. We are so thankful that we have you and are so proud of the wonderful little boy that you are.

The day started with presenting Nick with his present...a fish! He LOVES it! He was talking to it and stroking the side of the bowl like it was a dog. So cute. Then we had family and friends over for a reptile show, pizza and cake. The show was awesome! They had some pretty crazy animals...giant cockroaches, baby lizards, little snakes, medium snakes, LARGE snakes, turtles, frogs, etc. The kids loved it and payed surprisingly close attention considering their age and their attention spans. Couple of pictures below... I will post more when I am not so tired!

She Crawls!! (sort of)

Chelsea started crawling (scoot/dragging is more like it) exactly on her 9 month birthday (Aug. 10) and hasn't looked back since. Ryan and I were wondering if she was thinking, "wow! this is great, I have been missing out!" when she took her first tour of the living room. I would love to know what is going on is these kids' minds!

34 Hour Vacation

We headed up to North Conway this past Tuesday to stay for the night at Uncle Pete and Auntie Tara's vacation house. We hit StoryLand on Wednesday and after a late night up with his cousins Nick was a little out of sorts. Not the magical first trip to StoryLand that I had envisioned!! He had fun but there were a few rough moments and when he said, "I want to go home and go ni-nights" at 1:30pm we hit the road and he slept for 3 hours back at the house. Next year we'll do two nights!!

Dance Party: The Sequel

We got the dance party going again this past weekend. This time the boys and Leah joined in. (Shout out to the Cuniowski Clan blog for supplying the tunes!)
