Miracle on Gaslight Lane

NICHOLAS WOKE UP AT 7:40am TODAY!!!!!!!! I know, some of you parents are reading this and saying, "Where's the miracle?" Trust me. It's a miracle. This child has maybe 5 times in his whole life slept past 7am. And the norm is for him to wake up right around 6. We'll take 7:40 any day, it was very nice.

Too bad Chelsea was up at 6:30...

Just another Thursday

Nick found this tie in his room and brought it to me and said, "Mommy, can you put this on me?" Of course. Once it was on he smoothed it down and said, "Just like Dr. Chung!" (That's his doctor, who wears ties). Nicholas Wagner, MD has such a better ring to it than Nicholas Wagner, Chippendale.
Still sporting the tie during snack time (I made him take it off when he went down for a nap). I was at the computer doing work while he was eating his rice cakes and when I came over to check in I found this disaster...

It was a gorgeous day out so when Alison, Jack and Megan came over for our weekly get together we headed outside for some sand table fun...

Chelsea had the BIGGEST poop blow out EVER today; I was going to take a picture of the clothes and put it up but I thought that I would spare the viewers. Below she was displaying her grabbing skills... if you put something in front of her, she will grab it and hold it in a death grip (including hair which does NOT feel good!).

Chelsea: 4 months

We had Chelsea's 4 month appointment today. She's still a biggie! 75th percentile for weight and head and 90th percentile for height. Her Doctor says that she is doing great and gave us the go to start giving her rice cereal. Ever since Nick put a cookie in her mouth when she was about 4 weeks old she has been VERY interested and watchful when she sees us eating; so we figured she's waited long enough and we'd get started right away. I was telling Nick all day that Chelsea was going to eat real food tonight and he was all excited and kept saying that he wanted to eat Chelsea's food too. When it came time for her to eat of course we busted out the video (check out Nick in the background).

Doesn't look like he'll be asking to eat her food again!!

Weekend at the Wagners

We were lucky to have lots of visitors this weekend...

On Saturday we had tons of fun with Uncle Tommy and Cousin Owen. It seemed like Chelsea was asleep most of the time they were here but we got a few cute pics of Nick and Owen and some classic video of Owen. These are the kinds of things you catch on video when Mommy is out of town!!!!

On Sunday we had my whole family over (almost)...Nana, Papa, Uncle Pete, Emma, Drew, Leah, Uncle Matt and Auntie Karen (Tara was home sleeping because she worked the night before). After eating lunch and after the kids DESTROYED the basement we got serious and started the dance party (the girls were much more into it than the boys)...

"So you've had these paper clips for like 20 years?"

Ryan asked me this question last night. I was showing him a picture that my friend Christen put on her blog. It was of her and my other friend Sue in honor of Sue's birthday. It was circa 1988 and they were standing in my room posing with my Pillow Person (we were around 10 years old I am guessing). Christen pointed out in her blog text that she was wearing a paper clip friendship necklace. I pointed to the necklace and said to Ryan, "do you see those paper clips?" and then I reached to my right to retrieve my plastic, heart-shaped paper clip container (also circa 1988) and pulled out 4 of the very same paper clips that Christen had in her necklace! Hence the question from Ryan about having 20 year-old paper clips. I don't know why I still have them! But why would you ever throw a paper clip away?? After seeing the picture of Chris and Sue and remembering the fun times that these paper clips brought us I think that next time I have to fasten two pages together I will definitely reach for one of the silver paper clips in my plastic, heart-shaped paper clip container and see if I can't keep these ones for another twenty years!

Here's to friendships (and paper clips) that last 20+ years!!!

Recent photo shoots

Once a week or so Ryan puts the kids in poses (well, tells Nick where to go and what to do around Chelsea) and goes a little crazy with the camera. Here are a few pictures from recent shoots...
