Fisherman Nick

Last weekend we headed to Norwood for the kid's fishing derby with the Weafers. The kids had a ball and Nick made great use of his $11.99 Buzz Lightyear fishing pole! He actually stood there and fished for over an hour...I couldn't believe that he lasted that long! He didn't catch any fish but he got a little tug at one point and was perfectly satisfied (quite excited actually) that the fish had nibbled half of the worm off his hook.

Ahhhh, the patience needed to fish.
Great cast!

"Big Girl"

Chelsea has had many nicknames in her short life...choo chi, chooch, bubba girl, big girl...the list goes on and on. "Big Girl" is emerging as the dominant one though and it looks like it's a good one!!! She had her 16 month doctor appointment this week and SHE'S A BIG GIRL!!!!

32 inches long (83rd percentile)

24.5 pounds (67th percentile)

and drumroll please.......

19.25 inch head circumference (99th percentile)!!!!!!!!!

The girl has got a big dome! The past three times we have gone for check-ups she has had her head measured twice. First by the nurse and then again by the doctor because he can't believe that her head is that big. Sorry doc! It's true. At this appointment the doctor said, "the good news is that her head growth is slowing down", that's because last time it was over 100%! Nick has an enormous head too...it's in the genes. Not from Ryan and I though...I have a tiny head and Ryan has a normal head.

I hope Target has a "Big Head" section because none of the summer hats we have fit!!!!

big head nothing...looks perfect to me!

Easter Afternoon

We hosted Easter Dinner this year and had a great time! We at our traditional ham dinner inside but otherwise we all spent the day outside in the beautiful weather. It couldn't have been a more perfect day. The kids had a blast hunting for eggs and then eating the goods.

Ready to go!

Easter Morning

Nick was blown away by the fact that the EB ate some of the carrot

Tommy's always gotta get in on the action

CHEESE for Easter!!!!

Nick got about 10 Mr. Men & Little Miss books from a friend for Christmas and we basically have not read anything else since then. The EB added to his collection. As you can see from this video, he has memorized all 46 Mr. Men and 20 Little Misses that appear on the back of the books.

Shout out to the Easter Bunny!!! Such a sweet boy (once again, video was not rolling so I had to ask him to re-do the moment but he came out with it all by himself the first time, no prompting for a thank-you). Not sure why he is talking in the strange voice...

2nd Annual Bunny Photo Shoot

Another successful bunny photo shoot...and this year Nick actually touched them. In fact, he was quite upset when it was time for "Max" to leave after our 5 minutes with him. Sorry! No room in this house for another pet!

Ripping it up at the Dentist

Today was Nick's first dentist appointment. Kids will never cease to amaze me with their ability to rise to the occasion. I was a little nervous about him getting in the chair and immediately saying, "I'm outta here!" No nerves necessary. The kid was a champ. The first thing she said was that she was going to look in his mouth and then she started showing him her tools...and Nick had his mouth open the entire time...waiting for her to look in his mouth like she said she was going to. I am not sure if he will be remembered more for his stellar performance or for farting 4 times while he was in the chair!!! I wonder at what age farting in front of strangers becomes embarassing...it isn't 3.5 years old!

Pearly whites!
