Weekend at the Wagners

We were lucky to have lots of visitors this weekend...

On Saturday we had tons of fun with Uncle Tommy and Cousin Owen. It seemed like Chelsea was asleep most of the time they were here but we got a few cute pics of Nick and Owen and some classic video of Owen. These are the kinds of things you catch on video when Mommy is out of town!!!!

On Sunday we had my whole family over (almost)...Nana, Papa, Uncle Pete, Emma, Drew, Leah, Uncle Matt and Auntie Karen (Tara was home sleeping because she worked the night before). After eating lunch and after the kids DESTROYED the basement we got serious and started the dance party (the girls were much more into it than the boys)...

"So you've had these paper clips for like 20 years?"

Ryan asked me this question last night. I was showing him a picture that my friend Christen put on her blog. It was of her and my other friend Sue in honor of Sue's birthday. It was circa 1988 and they were standing in my room posing with my Pillow Person (we were around 10 years old I am guessing). Christen pointed out in her blog text that she was wearing a paper clip friendship necklace. I pointed to the necklace and said to Ryan, "do you see those paper clips?" and then I reached to my right to retrieve my plastic, heart-shaped paper clip container (also circa 1988) and pulled out 4 of the very same paper clips that Christen had in her necklace! Hence the question from Ryan about having 20 year-old paper clips. I don't know why I still have them! But why would you ever throw a paper clip away?? After seeing the picture of Chris and Sue and remembering the fun times that these paper clips brought us I think that next time I have to fasten two pages together I will definitely reach for one of the silver paper clips in my plastic, heart-shaped paper clip container and see if I can't keep these ones for another twenty years!

Here's to friendships (and paper clips) that last 20+ years!!!

Recent photo shoots

Once a week or so Ryan puts the kids in poses (well, tells Nick where to go and what to do around Chelsea) and goes a little crazy with the camera. Here are a few pictures from recent shoots...

Chatty Chelsea

We have two chatters on our hands...Nick is always blabbing about something and Chelsea certainly has something to say in this video (beware the big cheeks; today at her doctor's appointment her doctor called her "substantial" for lack of a better word - it must be unprofessional to call a baby "fatty").

Cream Cheese Mustache

Nick LOVES cream cheese - today, Alison gave him a hunk in a bowl so that he could dip pretzels in it but he skipped right over the pretzels and just picked up the hunk and was taking bites. This video was last week when he was eating it on a bagel...he was actually eating the bagel though.

Translation: at the end he says, "I wanna watch video of Chelsea crabs" (her playing with a toy we call "crabs") - it was about the 17th time he had asked me and I kept telling him he had to wait until he was done with his bagel (he is VERY persistent).

Recap: Chelsea

Here's to my sweet baby girl!

negative one week - "it's" gonna be a big one!

One day - Yup! she was a biggie...9 lbs, 10 oz. All wrapped up in the Swaddle Me...will she like it as much as Nick???

2.5 weeks - Nope! The Swaddle Me didn't last...she does NOT like to be restricted in any way (very feisty)

One month - first of many playdates with Megan

5.5 weeks - so far this is my favorite picture of her

1.5 months - Santa's little helper

2 months - she LOVES being naked and wrapped up in this super soft blanket (I don't know how I got the picture with her arms still inside - she has to have them in the open air at all times)

2.5 months - her eyes are still blue...will they change to green like Daddy's and Nick's???
